When going into an apprentice job
you immediately think "Bitch Work", "tea girl",
"photocopier" … the list goes on. You know you're going to be stuck
with the jobs that no one else higher than you in the job hierarchy want to do.
You want a job, but you can't get a job without experience?.. so "Bitch
Work" it's going to have to be.
However in my case, that is not
at all what it has been like. Yes, admittedly sometimes you have to do long and
boring jobs, but this is shared within the business fairly. I get amazing opportunities
to gain knowledge within the digital marketing sector; no day is ever the same
as the last. I am constantly moving around locations, travelling from
dealership to dealership looking at all of the shiny new cars in the show room!
I get to assist build websites, update and analyse social media channels, help
out at events, organise online campaign.. The list really does go on.
Not only is my job super exciting; there are many opportunities and prospects to progress within the business. I am constantly learning new skills that I can use in and out of the work place; they give me opportunity to study at a local college to increase my knowledge but also my employability later on in life - with added qualification.
I would recommend anyone who doesn't
know how to step onto the job ladder and get themselves into the big wide world
of work to seriously consider an apprenticeship. I will be updating my blog
with personal stories and experiences, why I became an apprentice and how you
too can enhance your employability.
